USING CUSTOMER PERSONAL HIDES

At Lone Legacy Boots, we offer a distinctive opportunity to create custom cowboy boots, belts, wallets, and purses crafted from your own hides or skins. From alligator to other exotic leathers obtained through domestic or international hunts, each piece is thoughtfully made into a meaningful keepsake that tells your unique story.

We are proud to turn your hides into expertly crafted leather goods. Once received at our facility, all materials are carefully inspected and evaluated to ensure they are suitable for use in boots, belts, or bags. Should any portion of the leather not meet our standards, we will reach out to discuss return or disposal options based on your preference.

Lone Legacy Boots stands behind the quality, fit, and craftsmanship of every item we produce. However, because we cannot confirm the tanning or treatment process of customer-provided hides, we cannot guarantee their durability, performance, or color retention. In the rare event that a personal hide fails during production or after completion, the customer assumes responsibility for the material.

WHAT CONDITION SHOULD THE HIDE BE IN?

All customer-provided hides must be fully tanned and ready for production before they can be used for any Lone Legacy Boots custom order.

In most cases, hides obtained through a hunt should be tanned in the country of origin prior to shipment. We recommend consulting your outfitter or guide for reputable tannery recommendations and examples of their work, as they are often familiar with trusted services.

At Lone Legacy Boots, we take great pride in the craftsmanship, quality, and fit of every product we create. However, because we cannot verify the tanning or treatment process of hides we do not supply, we cannot guarantee the durability, performance, or color stability of customer-provided materials. If personal hides fail during production or after completion, the customer assumes full responsibility for the material.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR LEFT OVER HIDE

Lone Legacy Boots can store any remaining leather for future custom projects or, if you prefer, return the unused portion of your hide with your completed product.

WHAT IS THE COST?

  • Our base fee when you provide the hide is $450.00. This fee applies whether you want the entire boot made from your hide or only the vamp (foot) portion. For the tops, we can provide an entry-level leather option such as cowhide in your price quote. You also have the option to upgrade to higher-grade leather for an additional cost.

  • We offer upgrades and customize your designs with inlays, toe selections, initials, etc., for additional charges.
